The greatest snow on earth is twenty minutes up the road. Deer Valley, Park City, Sundance, Brighton, Snowbird — all within an hour. At the end of the day, you trade the boots for a soak the body has been asking for since the third run.
Cold days. Warm water. Home before dark.
A Ski Day
From boot up to bath.
Morning
Coffee from the Milk House. Twenty-minute drive to Deer Valley. First chair at Bald Mountain.
Midday
Lunch at Royal Street Café — the standard for a reason. Then two more hours on the snow.
Late Afternoon
Drive back as the alpenglow lights the valley. Boots off, robe on, head to the Crater.
Evening
A fire, a glass of red, a sleep that comes early and easily.
